Description
  • A landscape shot, showing a canvas tipi in a clearing in front of a woodsy area (deciduous without leaves and conifers) and a small pond or creek. In the background is a hill or mountain.
Tribal Notes
  • An outside photograph of a single canvas tipi next to the Umatilla River. The outside canvas tipi is too short up the poles and there is a liner under the outside canvas to cover the rest of the tipi. The tipi is in open ground next to some brush and the river's edge. On both side of the river are big cottonwood trees and a few Pine trees on the other side of the river. In the background is a big open rolling hillside. Writing on the photograph is under the back of the tipi "Umatilla Reservation Maj. Moorhouse."
