Description
  • Black and white image. A group of young students seated in a classroom with their teacher in the Latham school, located in Lane County, Oregon. Young boys and girls are seated in rows of wooden benches, as their female teacher stands in the rear of the room under an arched walkway holding a book. On either side of her are connecting rooms with large windows covered with tattered shades. Also visible in the connecting rooms are two square hanging mirrors, and a metal milk container. In the center of the room is a wood-burning stove that has a circular piece of metal surrounding its exterior. A metal pipe extends from the base of the stove to the ceiling. The floor and walls of the interior are wooden. Two small pictures hang on the wall underneath two wreathes. In the backround are two square windows above a wooden door.
