  • Yarr li: This is probably the most widely grown pear of northern China. It is large, shaped like the European pear, with a deciduous calyx. The flesh is very firm, but juicy. The fruit keeps all winter. It can be obtained on the Peking Market all winter. Photographed October 1917.
