Development director Cliff Dalton and Dr. Melvin George. Cliff Dalton was appointed Director of Library Development in 1991, after spending the previous two years in the College of Business. Dalton helped manage and plan a $47 million campaign for the new Valley Library. Melvin George became the Director of Libraries in 1984. During his years as Director, the Valley Library added a room to house Linus Pauling's research materials and two nobel prizes.
