  • According to the West Shore, December 1, 1888, the Blagen Block, built for N. J. Blagen, was under construction in December 1888 and was expected to be ready for occupancy in March 1889. It was built concurrently with the adjacent Skidmore Building which was nearing completion in December 1888.
