Description
  • A group of Native American men, identified as members of the Umatilla tribe, ride horses along a row of trees and tipis. The men wear regalia, including feathered headdresses. In the background is a line of deciduous trees in full leaf.
Tribal Notes
  • An outside photograph of ten unidentified men in their regalia on horse back. This is the Short Mile Camp site at the end of the short mile road in Mission, Oregon. The riders are running toward the camera from right to left. They are all in their regalia from bonnets, buckskin shirt, wool legging, rifle scabbard and one of the men has an Eagle feathered staff. They are parading in front of canvas tipis. On the left side of the photograph is a long tent. Behind all of the tipis are cottonwood trees.
