- Description
- Born in Portland, Oregon in 1911, J. Granville Jensen joined the Geography Department in 1946 as Associate Professor. Jensen helped to establish the Department of Geography and served as the Chairman of the department from 1946 to 1964. Having received his Ph. D. in Geography from Clark University, Jensen studied and taught Latin American geography and natural resource development. In 1977, Granville became Professor Emeritus.
