Jim the Fixr sign

  • From his second story window of a Second Street hotel, Bernard Malamud, former OSU English Dept. faculty member and writer, had a good view of downtown Corvallis including the shop of Jim the Fixer. The name gave Malamud the title for his 1967 Pulitzer Prize winning novel and later a motion picture, "The Fixer." Photo was used in the December 1976 Oregon Stater
