Artwork DescriptionThis piece consists of the variously colored and patterned linear neon lights that decorate the tops of the columns in the dining area.

NotesThis award was originally made to enhance Hoke Hall at the Eastern Oregon State College. In 1997 Eastern Oregon State College became Eastern Oregon University.

Artist StatementIt is this artist's intent to create a hospitable space that has a congenial atmosphere which invites multiple usage, a place of warmth and sacredness missing in our hectic, modern life. ...The designs will create an ""aura"" of warm light on the ceiling around the columns, producting an attractive atmosphere for social events, meetings, and conversation. (Wray, 1994)

Image Processing HistoryMaster tiff image captured at 4000 pixels across the long edge using SilverFast AI 6.0 software. Digital images in tiff format are archived and saved. Adobe Photoshop CS2 used to reorient and crop image, set and neutralize shadow and highlight points, adjust levels, contrast and sharpen as needed. Second production tiff saved. Color profile converted from Adobe RGB (1998) to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, resolution revised to 125 pixels, resize longer dimension to 875 pixels; save display jpeg at quality level 6.
