Text: Windham College, Putney Vermont. Dr. Linus Pauling, world famous chemist and humanitarian, winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace, man of courage and man of controversy, is honored by Windham College for his contributions to the betterment of the human condition, both as a scientist and as a man of peace. By virtue of the authority vested in me by the Board of Trustees of Windham College and by the State of Vermont, I confer upon you the degree of Doctor of Letters, honoris causa, with all the rights and privileges pertaining thereto. May 26, 1968. Two signatures follow.
