| General Notes | A Native American woman, identified as Rosa Paul of the Walla Wall tribe, stands to the left of a large tipi. She has on a long fringed leather dress which is decorated across the shoulders. She is wearing a basket hat on her head. It has woven geometric designs. Rosa Paul has long braids. She is wearing a cradleboard on her back. There is an infant in the cradleboard. Behind Rosa Paul there is a log and a pile of sacks and some cloth on the ground. The cloth is decorated with a geometic design. One of the sacks appears to have potatoes in it. Against the tipi are some cloth or bags and two metal pots or bowls. The tipi is covered with woven Tule mats. The entrance is covered with a piece of cloth. |
| TCI Notes | An outside photograph of a woman and a child standing next to a campsite. She has been identified as Rosa Paul and child. She has the child in a cradleboard on her back standing on the side of a Tule mat tipi. She is wearing a cornhusk hat, beaded buckskin dress and she is facing to the left of the photographer with her head turned to look at the camera. Behind her are a number of different size bags. The door of the Tule mat tipi is facing the camera. There are three layers of the Tule mats to make the tipi. In the background are different size cottonwood trees and brush. Writing on the photograph is under the door of the tipi "Rosa Paul Walla Walla Tribe Major Moorhouse." |

| Processing History | Scanned images enter Photoshop with negative polarity and have a reversed orientation. Archived Tiffs are saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop images, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profie from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resoltuion to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing. |
